New Taipei MRT Lifestyle Expands Again!
Of the nine TOD projects along the Tucheng–Shulin MRT Line, three have secured investors. On July 21, a signing ceremony for the LG16 Station Entrances A and B development projects was held at Hilton Taipei Sinban. Sinyi Development Co., Ltd. was selected as the preferred applicant. In the presence of Mayor Hou You-yi, the contract was signed by MRT Bureau Director Lee Cheng-An and Sinyi Chairman Chou Chun-Chi. The total investment is around NT$4.5 billion, with completion expected by 2032.

New Landmark at LG16: MRT Development Project Signed for Shulin
New Taipei City Mayor Hou You-yi announced that Entrances A and B of LG16 Station are among the three out of nine transit-oriented development (TOD) projects along the Tucheng–Shulin MRT Line that have successfully attracted investment. The exterior design of the buildings incorporates Shulin’s cultural elements—transforming historical irrigation maps into flowing architectural patterns that symbolize the waterways that once nourished the region.
Each entrance will feature a 27-story building with five underground levels, totaling 15,200 pings (approx. 50,000 m²) of floor area. The NT$4.5 billion investment will bring in around 1,400 new residents and introduce high-quality, sustainable living spaces, all certified as Green Buildings and Gold-grade Intelligent Buildings.
In a first-of-its-kind initiative, the MRT Bureau is coordinating the construction of both the buildings and station entrances simultaneously. The entrances, totaling 1,074 pings, will include station facilities such as retail areas, restrooms, elevators, escalators, mechanical rooms, staff lounges, and more—all set to be completed with the MRT line and put into operation together.
MRT Bureau Director Lee Cheng-An added that all nine TOD sites on the line are expected to attract NT$38.2 billion in private investment. Three projects have already secured investors (LG17, LG16 Entrances A and B), while three more (LG15 Entrance B, LG19 Entrances A and B) are currently open for bids, with tenders closing in September. The remaining sites are under urban planning review.
Lee emphasized the city's shift from traditional post-MRT development to concurrent construction of stations and adjacent buildings—allowing landowners who contributed entrance land to receive building units earlier. With rail as the backbone, New Taipei continues to expand its MRT network and promote a more livable, transit-connected city.
